I hand-craft my funky, one-of-a-kind earrings from used, plastic gift cards, which I receive as donations from stores and friends. My use of up-cycled gift cards is two-fold: as material and as inspiration for my distinctive designs. As it turns out, these colorful, plastic cards are the perfect material: durable, easy to work with, and available in a near-endless array of colors and patterns. But what I like best about them is, in turn, what my customers appreciate most about their jewelry: how amazingly lightweight they are!

I use scissors and nail tools for shaping and refining, plus an Xacto knife for smoothing out concave and internal shapes. I work directly and organically from the donated cards, creating comfortable, lightweight pieces which both honor and obscure the repurposed material. My finished earrings use only hypoallergenic earwires and posts, so each unique pair is as comfortable and durable as it is beautiful!
